Dear Friend,
Well, if it didn't happen to me, I
wouldn't have believed it.
I sucked at grammar in school. I
think I got a B or a C in it. I REALLY struggled
in college advanced grammar.

copywriters. Lew, then, personally trained me in
writing. I already had the
formula.
But he put spit and polish on
it.
Since then, I've refined it more and more
till it's a brightly shining diamond.
Man, there is NO thrill greater than
sending out 1,000 or 2,000 letters and having
$120,000 come back. Or having a client cut
you a check for $12,000 for writing ONE
letter.
Or writing your own letter and having the
thing just make money hand over fist. You
know, just go bonkers.
First time that happened to me, my eyes
really bugged.
I realized I'd never have to write copy
for anyone other than myself again. Not that
there's anything wrong with writing for clients. I
loved it and you may want to do it.
I started out at something like $200 a
page and worked my way up to $750. Not bad
money for something you can do at Starbucks in
your blue jeans. Or anywhere else you want
to write.
My 12-step formula (and variations of it)
are copied all over the Internet
nowadays.
I think my postman has an ebook on MY
12-step system for writing copy. It's really
no big deal though. In that I'm glad the a lot of
people have been helped.
And, of course, I can't take credit for
all the courses out there. There are a lot of
bright people in the world.
My income changed hugely and dramatically
the day I figured out how to create simple letters
that talk to people and tell how a product will
make their life better.
Before that, things sucked.
I was not a born
salesperson.
When I was a kid playing Clarinet in the
seventh grade band, I desperately wanted to win
this mirror ball that made colors reflect around
the room.
I walked at least several miles
door-to-door for a week trying to sell magazines
for the school band. I sold only a
few. Someone else got the mirror
ball.
I once put 30,000 miles on my car in sixth
months trying to sell insurance for John
Hancock. I sold only one home owners
insurance policy on a small wood frame
house.
The man behind the counter said, "We
normally don't take this many pennies
but..."
Man, I'll never forget trying to earn a
living in sales. I had to buy deodorant at
the convenience store with all pennies. The
man behind the counter looked at me and said, "We
normally don't take this many pennies. But I
guess in your case we'll make an
exception!"
One day it just clicked.
I can't explain how or why. But I
finally "GOT" how to craft letters that get people
to buy stuff, take action, fill out forms and so
forth.
Within a few years I was getting paid $500
a page to write sales letters. Later $750 a
page. I began offering my consulting
services for $1,000 an hour.
Then I got invited to speak at over 120,
$3,000 one-day seminars to teach what I
knew. Five years ago I started selling
information about my methods on the
Internet.
Initially that was before the WWW even
existed. I sold on AOL and Compuserve.
After the WWW exploded my product The

Here's how you make
money
Step one: Use one of your own products,
create one or find a product someone isn't
marketing.
If you don't have a product, I suggest you
create an information product. Or find a
product by someone who isn't marketing it on the
Net.
For example, a friend of mine found a
software program that was under-marketed. He
asked the guy how much money he was making a year
off it. Then he paid him that much upfront
($3,000) for the exclusive rights to market it for
one year.
If the person isn't making any money off
their product on the Net, then you might not even
have to pay them anything.
Step two: Craft your KSL and
stick it up on a page.
The KSL is your engine that drives
sales. It's all about the hits and the
KSL.
Step three: Get some
traffic.
You can buy hits from the overture.com
search engine. You can buy ads on Google now
for 10 bucks a thousand. You can buy ads in
ezines. You can create an associate
program. You can trade reciprocal links with
related sites.
But the best thing to do is find people
with mailing lists and ask them to endorse your
product to their list.
Then, when people buy your product, you
convert them to associates. Also, you can
send everyone who buys your product a thank you
card from your own site. Chances are while
they're there, they'll want to send some cards to
their friends who will, in turn, pick them up at
your site. Of course, you hit them with your
banner while they're there!
Next, everyone who buys your product pops
right into your autoresponder follow up
sequence.

Now they start getting your other
offers. What offers? You ask.
Well, you sign up for associate programs like mine
